techno and few other intelligent things

We are Further Pushers and this is our debut.

Few months ago I met Simone, a local dj known as Cutter, a nice and distinguished guy with a cutting sense of humour I talked to many times at the glorious Glucose techno night in Rome.
We decided to get togheter producing some tracks and we quickly discovered we were a perfect match, we could produce music easily and we were really excited about what we produced.
Further Pushers were born!
We compiled a demo and contacted three labels we thought could be interested in. We got no reply and we decided to print the vinyls ourselves. FUCK YEAH!

a1133119312_10

We first mixed the three tracks we choose to release at Subsound Studio in Rome with the help of Luciano Lamanna a really talented and enthusiastic guy who was really impressed by our work. We mastered the tracks at Andrea Merlini’s studio (one of the best mastering technician in Rome and also part of the famous Minimal Rome crew) cause we decided to keep it local.
Everything went so fast and we were ready to send the files to the printing factory. We decided to print only 150 copies cause we didn’t know how actually the game worked so we kept it kinda low profile.
Then Luciano Lamanna got us into his label/collective called Love Blast and we were happy to be part of a local community with friends and skilled producers.

Now the vinyl is out and we are so fracking excited.
(the digital will be also released on the 14th on every major digital music stores)

Some technical info about the records.
We recorded the tracks jamming on our cheap synths and drum machines: we used a MC303 , a MC505, a MFB522, a Yamaha TG33, an drrum machine called Eko Ritmo20 and some pedals fx like the Ibanez Tube Screamer and the Memory Boy. Plus we used some field recordings.

The photo of the cover is from Fernanda Veron and the artwork is by Matteo Bruno

we set up a Facebook page were you can keep up with us and everything related to Further Pushers.

you can also join us on Souncloud.

thanks for reading and for joining us on this new adventure and please take your time to listen to the tracks.

Gabe DM – Italiansgroove radioshow #23

italiansgroove radioshow

I am happy to share with you the podcast I did for Italiansgroove radioshow.

Since I got robbed recently of my dj equipments I had to record it on Ableton Live, it was a real pain in the ass, maybe cause it was the first time I approach a dj session this way. I felt I was totally loosing the live djing feel in favour of a structured recording session. I did mapped the filters and eqs on my controller but still couldn’t get the fun I use to have while djing in real time.

I think I will have to find a different approach to live mixes in the future. if you have any advice go ahead and tell me πŸ™‚

In the tracklist you will find tracks from producer I admire, friends and new discoveries, plus many of my recent tracks (of course eheheh).

Have a spin and share it if you like, don’t forget to thank the ppl who produce such beautiful tracks that are out there for us to enjoy.

I am really proud and happy to be part of this wonderfull group of friends and colleagues. I have been hanging on the forum for one year now and I must say all the ppl involved are really cool and I learned a lot of technical tips and discovered great new music. So if you’re looking for a techno music forum and nice ppl, get down to the Subsekt!

as you know my ep called Perturbation Stolidity has been released two weeks ago and I didn’t get the feeds and the attention I was hoping for, but it’s ok, no prob at all cause I know I am not a big act or anything similar. I just hoped to get some exposure but little by little hopefully will get somewhere. So it’s a real honour to be be included in this awesome mixtape sharing the playlist with Ariff, Arc, Mslwte, Timothy Alexander, Jordan Louis, Ross Alexander, Serial, Twilitez, Filiber, Aphorren, The Binary Mind, Peter Gual, Jake Conlon, Inhuman ImpulseΒ and the great Ronny Pries.

For this I thank John, Paul and every other Subsekters.

Have a nice time listening toΒ the tape and see you around.

my new ep “Perturbation Stolidity” is out!

Perturbation Stolidity is the title ofΒ my new ep releasedΒ by Toffler Music EntertainmentΒ is out on Beatport Exclusive (unfortunally will be available only there for the first month).

Perturbation Stolidity cover

  1. GUARDS BY DISTANCE
  2. BANKRUPTCY SHOWBIZ
  3. STOLIDITY
  4. TEAMWORK OCCLUSION
  5. FAULTY MOVE

The releaseΒ contains five tracks of deep and contemporary techno. Low ends and driving bassdrums set the mood for speculating over contemporaneity.Β Β

Perturbation Stolidity is a snapshot of global phenomena such as climate change, economic inequalities, social conduct but also an intimate and disillusioned personal flash of light and a critique of our personal behavior.

Everywhere we assist a call for stronger control. We are threatened by financial crisis, morale breakdowns, extreme pollution, political new-populism all of them we believe are consequences of a deregulated system.

Closure/Occlusion: The act of closing or the state of being closed. The strategy of closing down your domain is used to keep dangers out. Physiological barriers like membranes or tissues are mechanisms that block the passage of certain substances, in the same way physical barriers are meant to protect countries, pieces of land from migration, interbreeding, or free movement of individuals or populations.

Contemporaneity is dark and uncertain. People lost value on behalf of greedy agglomerates of power and wealth.

Cities are drawing in poverty and darkness, no breathable air, not a wink of wild nature and life.

The collapse of modern civilization seems always more imminent while society keeps waiting for it with stolidity.

To work, to produce, to obey, to delegate. This are all actions humanity has learned to fulfill everyday while living in separation looking to personal glorification and self indulgence. Our specie lost contact with the biological part of its being. Hours spent in segregation makes us proud of our own achievements and jealous as only we can enjoy them. The reach for safety erects barriers responding to the insiders/outsiders distinction that we postulated for us to feel part of a definite system. The lack of sharing, despite echoes of social computing attracting us like zombies on a fresh meal, stops the awareness of cooperation between people.

We’ve lost the route and the imagination, feeling we’re terribly clueless: no values, no certainty, hopes or visions.

We share thoughts in our private nightmare.”

Track β€œBankruptcy Showbiz” contains a sample from β€œ(Move it) to the big bang” by Steve Rachmad; thanks a lot to Mr. Steve Rachmad and Music Man Records for making possible to use the sample.

Gabe DM and TME thank you for reading and listening to his music. Also Gabe will be proud of you if you stop being selfish and lazy and start to ACT: be vegan, be fair and be a rebel.

“Bye Bye Mademoiselle” by Miriam Macri, including Gabe DM and Mechanique remix

Hey there,

here’s my latest released track. It’s a remix I did for ItalianΒ  producer Miriam Macri out on Benthic Recordings. The track is called Bye Bye Mademoiselle and gives title to the Ep wich includes another original track called Hello Mademoiselle and one more remix by Mechanique (also label boss).

For this remix I received the parts from the label but I used little of them, like the pad sound wich I chopped and used a loop of it and the dubby melody that comes in at 5:00 circa.

I used some cricket’s noise I recorded this summer in the wood that you can hear almost through the whole song and some big fly buzz which I also record this summer while working on a live show I did in Viareggio (Tuscany).

I tried to improve my mixing skill and tried to blend smoothly bass and kick drum following all the hints my friends and colleagues gave me on Subsekt.

One word about Miriam and Jaime/Mecanique: they are really nice people and very skilled producer so please take your time to surf the web looking for their stuff, it’s totally worth trust me πŸ™‚

I hope you like the remix I did but also check the whole ep out because all the tracks are very good. Support the label and the artist buying the tracks on web stores, but if you are a dj and want to support the release by playing the tracks in your set go ahead and message me and I will send you the promo pack πŸ™‚

“Twelve Grapes” included in Revox’s TWO, a superb compilation!

Right at the end of 2011 Revox Records released a compilation called TWO featuring many artist from their rooster, including my track called Twelve Grapes.

The compilation is really great with lots of friends featured: Chris Venola, Jesse Oo Roc, Eddie Hu, Eric Reivolp, Chris Carini, Sinus O,Β so fojust 10 bucks you get 13 original tracks to start the year in a deep and fresh way.

my track is called Twelve Grapes and it’s a deep and slightly dub tech tune. it contains a field recording of my friends at the 2010 new year’s eve party we had at our house during wich we followed the spainsh tradition of the “campanadas” or “uvadas” consisting in eating 12 grapes over the last 12 seconds of the year. Definitely it was fun and we were all mouth fulled with grapes and laughs. I love my friends and I wanted to celebrate them this way πŸ™‚

here’s Twelve Grapes for you to listen:

Something Leninist included in IPO//030. a superb compilation

Ipoligica Recordings’ guys are back with this excellent compilation featuring many great producers and friends.

IPO//030 is available now only at beatport Exclusive (bhuuuuu) but will be sold on every major web music store shortly, so for all of you who don’t have a beatport account (or just hate beatport) be patient and wait for your favourite web store to sell this compilation in the near future.

the compilation contains “12 tracks by 12 different artists. A concept where the pure electronic music and experimental (Gianluca Angelini – boss at ANG rec, Giulio Maresca – boss at Ipologica Recordings, Miquel Salla) through the deep sounds (Gabe Dm, Alveol, Enrico Sedda, Yuuki Hori, Gabriele Brunno – boss at NGB) and dub-techno sounds (Ness, Gale Talk) ending up in things hybrid, more acid (Kawatin) and mental (Fabio Sestili – also boss at Ipologica Recordings). An image of a beautiful label that has as a common denominator: the love for the sound class and its roots in electronic music”.

I really like the music in this compilation, particularly the first track scored by Alveol, which is a great producer and a very sweet guy.

I would like to make a special mention to the track called Soundtrack by Giulio Maresca who shows here his more intimate and delicate side, he’s not only a fine techno dj but also a great producer with a good taste and strong technique.

personally I also like the track by Miquel Salla, it’s got good synths sounds, sparkling hats and stompig kick. I also like the Ness’ one it’s got his particular dub touch which defines his style.

my track?…it’s just a piece of vintage sounding sovietic dancefloor stomper πŸ˜€ (or at least this is what I imagine sovietic youth to dance in their uniform when they party on the 23 of february for the day of Indipendence). this is it:

comment or criticize it if you feel like πŸ™‚

in the end… the compi is great and you should buy it as a christmas gift for your top quality seeker friends πŸ™‚ I am so proud to be part of it!
